posies at embankment
‘posies at embankment’ is the visual companion to Embankment Review — an Instagram account where I share excerpts from my writing, original postcards and digital collages, curated fashion finds, and archive-inspired inspiration.
The account serves as a space to document personal taste and cultural interests, from fashion history and secondhand discoveries to Pinterest-style moodboards and visual storytelling. Emphasizing sustainability, intentional consumption, and cultural awareness over trend-driven fashion, Posies at Embankment reflects a slower, more thoughtful approach to consumerism.
Alongside community-focused content and behind-the-scenes insights, the platform allows me to develop and demonstrate skills in branding, content strategy, visual direction, and audience engagement while supporting my broader creative and editorial work.

Packaging & DTC Experience
For physical packaging, very intentional details - a brand stamp and wax seals - were one of the first things I envisioned and was insistent on.
The wax seals are from another Etsy shop, Caitlin Home, from a fellow South Carolina-based seller. They are ‘misfit’ flower wax seals (deadstock wax seals that weren’t quite perfect for her themed seal packages), which help tie in the floral aspect of the shop’s name and also bring a soft and very human touch to a product that is meant to inspire, elicit connection, and humaneness. I plan to switch to making my own wax seals in the future, but did not include the supply costs for materials in the upfront costs; supporting another small business was advantageous for my first few postcard launches.
The rubber stamp is used to brand lower-cost packaging without spending a lot on pre-made branding. This will add a very human touch and feel very put together for consumers when they open a parcel, and also keeps branding costs and branding overall consistent and low-cost for Posies long term.
It was also important that the packaging be sustainable or earth-friendly in some way. Sustainability is a huge value to me in my personal life and something I was conscious of when considering making my illustrations into a physical product. I wanted to create postcards to bring people together - not to create waste that will last forever. Sustainability is also something I highlight on the Posies Instagram and on Embankment Review - it is a value of this brand. Each level of this product is recyclable or compostable. I tested samples from three eco-conscious brands; affordability and quality have led me to use EcoEnclose for the present. With my current business model and predicted sales growth, this supplier is a budget sweet spot that helps me stay true to the company’s values without going in the red. Initial packaging costs were included in the startup costs.
The packaging I use:
EcoEnclose 100% Recycled White Tissue Paper
EcoEnclose Padded Mailers: Macerated newsprint sandwiched between kraft paper; 100% recycled, 25% post-consumer waste kraft paper fiber
100% post-consumer waste macerated newsprint
