PR & Communications Experience
My experience in public relations and communications spans government, arts, and media environments, where I have supported messaging, media relations, and public-facing campaigns.
While serving as a Public Relations Assistant Manager at the Mayor’s Office of Communications in Atlanta, I contributed to developing and disseminating press materials, including press releases, media advisories, and daily news briefings. I supported media monitoring efforts using tools such as TVEyes, analyzed coverage across sectors, and collaborated with city agencies to ensure accurate, timely, and strategic communication with the public.
In addition to my government experience, I have applied PR and communications skills in creative and cultural spaces. At JRNY Gallery, I led social media relaunch efforts, developed marketing materials, and supported community outreach initiatives through partnerships, events, and digital campaigns. My work focused on strengthening brand presence, engaging audiences, and creating cohesive messaging across platforms.
Earlier roles, including my internship with the Georgia Museum of Art and work with Strike Magazine, further developed my foundation in press writing, content development, and editorial direction. Across these experiences, I have contributed to press releases, campaign messaging, social content, and audience engagement strategies.
Applied Politics & Public Affairs Training
I further developed my communications background during my undergraduate studies with a Certificate in Public Affairs in Applied Politics from the University of Georgia. This program emphasized the intersection of public relations, political communication, and data-informed strategy.
Through this coursework and related internship experience, I built skills in strategic messaging, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs communications, alongside technical experience in data analysis tools such as R. This training strengthened my ability to approach communications work with both analytical insight and an understanding of broader political and public-facing contexts.
Major shoutout to Dr. Haynes & Professor Watson! You guys are amazing!
